Our Barrel-Aged loose-leaf tea, presented in beautifully a embossed tin, is aged in the highest quality Irish Whiskey barrels that were once used to produce some of Irelands finest whiskeys.
Using carefully selected black loose-leaf tea from Kenya, we age the tea in seasoned Oak Irish Whiskey Barrels, rolling them daily for months, to infuse the flavors into the tea.
Unlike our coffee, our Barrel-Aged tea has a very subtle whiskey flavor that develops as you drink it. The Barrel-Aging process imparts sweetness and a slight oak flavor to give a delicious tea. And as a bonus, it comes in a beautiful tin! Our tea comes from the Kapchorua Tea Estate which is situated West of the Rift Valley in Kenya. Kapchorua is 7,000 feet above sea level and is bordered by a steep slope overlooking the tea fields. The dark reddish soils of the valley and slow growth of the tea bushes produce a bright edge to the color of the teas and add to the taste.
